thus, we cut ever rotor to request, per corner, per customer.
because of that, we are able to take the time when machining these drilled rotors, to ensure every disc is custom and cut properly.
whenever you drill rotors with through drilling or cross-drilling, rotor integrity is the concern. every single drill hole must miss the internal venting veins that are inside a vented rotor. this is where you avoid cracking at or around the drilling and why adam's rotors simply do not crack. we have a 1-year replacement warranty against cracking on our crossdrilled rotors to prove how confident we are in this.
along with these meticulous standards in drill hole placement among each individual disc vein, we also chamfer the edge of our drill holes, another small detail many overlook, to also help aid in the avoidance of cracking.
drilling was created to avoid gas build-up from the aggressive pads used in the past. many times high performance scenarios used different compounds that would create this and effectively form a bubble or cushion of pad gas between the brake pad and rotor face. drilling has become the standard in a "sporty" look, and is preferred by many automotive enthusiasts for that reason.
nowadays the gasses they (drilling) were once used to help disperse, are no longer there for the most part, depending of course on what your application is, and what pads you are running. with that said, for a daily driven street car, it really makes no difference when the car isn’t seeing hot brakes and aggressive stopping, thus the gasses we've discussed.
in this case we always say to pick your favorite; after all, our concept is to have the customer choosing what they like for they’re own custom rotor!
